Roasted Carrot Puree - 4 to 6 months

Ingredients:

  • Whole carrots peeled
  • Olive oil

Directions:  Rub peeled carrots with olive oil.  Place on cooksheet. Bake at 425 degrees until lightly browned and soft all the way through.  Blend smooth.

Tip:  Add small amounts of water until you've reached your desired consistency (try using breast milk or formula as an alternative).

Tip:  When freezing, use an ice tray for smaller individual servings.  When frozen, remove from tray and store in airtight bags or containers.

REMINDER: Make sure your food is always age appropriate. Never hesitate to consult with your pediatrician before introducing new foods.  We recommend spacing new foods 4 days apart, so you can spot and identify any food allergies. Have fun and be creative!
Many pediatricians will remind you that breast milk or formula feeding should still be your babies main source of nutrition until the age of 1.
AVOID:  A few common food allergens are eggs, milk, wheat, soy, tree nuts, fish, and shellfish.
Honey is should be avoided the first year because it can cause botulism.

Wait until your baby is 10 - 12 months before trying gas-inducing foods such as beans, broccoli, onions, fruit juice, wheat, cauliflower, garlic, and dairy.  A gassy baby isn’t a happy baby.
