#4 1st Turkey Dinner - 7 to 12 months

Thanksgiving is almost here! This is the best time to introduce new food to your baby.

  • 1 - 2 slices of cooked turkey (hold the gravy)
  • cranberry sauce

Blend turkey slices with water (about 1 TB. at a time) until you’ve reached a smooth consistency.   Slowly sweeten with cranberry sauce.

Tip:  Instead of blending, try chopping the turkey finely for those babies that have been eating more solids.

REMINDERMake sure your food is always age appropriate. Never hesitate to consult with your pediatrician before introducing new foods.  We recommend spacing new foods 4 days apart, so you can spot and identify any food allergies. Have fun and be creative!
Many pediatricians will remind you that breast milk or formula feeding should still be your babies main source of nutrition until the age of 1.
AVOID A few common food allergens are eggs, milk, wheat, soy, tree nuts, fish, and shellfish.
Honey is should be avoided the first year because it can cause botulism.

Wait until your baby is 10 - 12 months before trying gas-inducing foods such as beans, broccoli, onions, fruit juice, wheat, cauliflower, garlic, and dairy.  A gassy baby isn’t a happy baby.
